Irisha or Italiano – The Iacone Family – Children (Sons), Relatives, Etc. No 13 – October 16, 2017

No. 13 takes care of the sons of the Iacones. I forgot to mention that one of the girls of the Iacone was killed by a New York City Transit Bus in a class outing when she was young. No pictures were found of Jenny Iacone.

Just a quick mention about Dominick in two pictures below, I never got the answer but he appeared in a few magazines back in the days when they sold these detective magazines back in the late 1940’s and 1950’s. The newspaper print on the first row and the picture of Dominick holding a whiskey glass.

The parking lot was on Henry Street in Little Italy. The first picture on the top row was the Chinese Church that was just next to the parking lot. I added a picture of a social club on Mulberry Street which is pretty close to the one that was just across the street from the parking lot.

Dominick was quite a fellow over the years. He grew up when the family was popular on the lower east side and went to school with a lot of the members. He did some magazine art for those detective magazines. He had a parking lot on Henry Street across from an Italian Social Club.

Young Jimmy Iacone fell to a street fight and was stabbed in the heart, protecting his sister, Josephine Iacone.

These are the pictures of Joseph Iacone’s family and his son’s wedding.

John and Lucy Iacone who lived in Brooklyn, New York. Uncle Johnny is the one making a gesture on the right in this picture and next to his 2nd wife, Lucy Iacone. The first row, from left to right are Joseph Iacone, Mary Vitrano and Millie (Iacone) Carracciola. The second row, from left to right Jimmy DeFillippo, Santa (Iacone) DeFillippo, Nettie (Tessario) Iacone, Lucy Iacone, Johnny Iacone. Top row: Dominick Iacone and Dominick Carracciola.

And here are the recent relatives that I found in the last few years. The one on the left is in Hollywood, Califofrnia and was involved in a popular movie. Middle newspaper was a relative in the wrong place at the wrong time. And the third is a familiar guy because I couldn’t find the other picture that I wanted to use that spent the day with Dominick at the parking lot.

Irisha or Italiano – The Iacone Family – Children (Daughters), Relatives, Etc. No 12 – October 16, 2017

No. 12 will take care of the children of the Carmelo and Marietta (LaChetta) Iacone. This will be a long page because I’ll add all of the family that I know of and specify by name in a small collage of sorts and add other relatives, friends, and a few other pictures that I came across that lacked identification but were part of the picture collection.

The first row has a picture of the Inzanti boys. The people in the picture, from left to right, are: Jeanne and Sonny Inzanti, Dominick and Mary Iacone, and Paulie Inzanti. Both Paulie and Sonny lived near each other in Howard Beach. Sonny and Jeanne moved to South Florida and his call to fame was selling his house in Howard Beach to John Gotti.

The above set of pictures are related to one of the daughters, Josephine Iacone, who was married to Sammy Inzanti and had two children, Paulie and Sonny Inzanti. When I knew Sonny Inzanti, he drove a taxi cab in New York City. His brother, Paulie Inzanti, worked in the construction trades. Paulie was an avid hunter and was on Argosy magazine covers a few times from the animals that he hunted all over the world.

Sonny Inzanti and Jeannie Inzanti had one girl, pictured above. Paulie and Paulette had a boy and a girl called Paul and Paulette.

Millie (Iacone) and Dominick Carracciola. Both Millie and Dom worked in the flower industry on the west side of Manhattan. No children.

Santa (Iacone) and Jimmy DeFillippo

Jenny Iacone, the youngest girl of the Iacones was killed while running across the street on a school outing.

Irisha or Italiano – The Iacone Family – The Astoria, Long Island Years No. 08 – October 16, 2017

It was during the 1950’s that the Iacone family relocated to Astoria, Long Island, New York City. This period is broken down into three section in order to accommodate the number of pictures.

Most of the pictures for this era deal with Mary and Dick and Marie and her brother James. There are several pictures of a brick two family house which I believe was in Brooklyn, New York and was owned by Millie and Dominick Carracciola.

Irisha or Italiano – The Iacone Early Years No. 05 – October 15, 2017

Here is No. 05 and we’ll have to call this one the lil Marie and her First Communion. I believe that most of these pictures were from their Catherine Street apartment but we’ll find out when Marie starts to look at these pictures.

The bottom picture is of Marie and her brother James taken at the playground at Knickerbocker Village.

Irisha or Italiano – The Iacone Early Years No. 03 – October 15, 2017

The third in a series of the Iacone Family Early Years in New York City No. 03.

It was pretty hard to break down these pictures into the Early Years but I tried to isolate most of the picturtes by the size of the children. I think I did about 50% because everytime I look at some of the pictures, I keep on switching what folder I put them in and switched again.. Finally, I gave up and left them as is and will try and make a comment on some of them.

Most of the pictures are purely guesses as to who they are. Others, I tried to get Marie to sit still long enough to ID them but for the most, I took a quick guess if I had a general idea.

The top row, from left to right are Mary Vitrano, next picture Grandma Vitrano, Lil Marie and I believe Paulie Inzanti with?

The threesome picture is Grandma Vitrano, Lil Marie? and Dominick Iacone.

Middle scene on the stoop is Grandma Marietta on their family building. Mary Iacone and Lil Marie who is no longer little.

Two women holding lil Marie Iacone are Dolores Vitrano and Josephine Roth.

Bottom stoop scene is the Inzantis, Sam and Josephine on the right and Mary Iacone on the left. The two boys I believe are the Inzanti boys.

I believe the kitchen picture could be the kitchen of Mary and Dick’s apartment on Catherine Street in New York City.

The class picture is Marie’s class at St. Jospeh’s School downtowm.

I should call this the Lil Marie Iacone page.

Irisha or Italiano – The Iacone Family – The Long Beach Years No. 07 – October 15, 2017

The Long Beach, New York years were relatively easy to deal with because this is the era when I came into the family. Most of the pictures represented below are primarily the Iacone family. All these pictures were taken while the family lived at 28 Tennessee Avenue in Long Beach, New York.

The home was literally six houses away from the Atlantic Ocean. after Labor Day weekend, the streets were empty for the rest of the year. On a winter’s night, the winds would howl when a Nor’Easter storm came in. The eaves of the wood frame house would howl in the winds.

Joe and Nettie Iacone lived on Mulberry Street when I first came into the family. I was invited to their home on Mulberry Street and the meal of the day was Manicotti baked in one of those old-fashioned ovens. It was a huge kitchen and had a huge kitchen table where all the

Marie’s family and Joe and Nettie Iacone’s family could sit down and eat. On that day, I believe that I ate about ten+ manicotti…they were so delicious and she was a great cook.
